Hurricane Harvey got the best of the United States. But what most people don't know is that it brought up a weird uncommon species of creatures to the human eye. On the Washington Post, Preeti Desai stated at first she didn't know what it was and even asked her fellow twitter scientist to help out. They realize the 50 ft creature is an Aplatophis chauliodus or a Fang tooth snake eel. This snake eel usually lives about 100-300 feet beneath down in the water in the Gulf of Mexico. What Desai decided to do with the dead snake eel was to leave it on the beach to " let nature take its course.” This photo was taken by Lindsey Bever
